6.0 Miles Monday 11-26-12

Ran exactly 6.0 miles in exactly 2.0 hours… The fingerprints of the Lord were all over this run tonight! As I said earlier, it always amazes me when I run dogs and the GPS shows we went ___.0 miles. We always run different trails in different directions and put loops together differently, so it’s certainly not something I could ever do on purpose. And tonight we found an old rabbit trail that we haven’t mistakingly gone down for a number of years where we had to Gee around and come back from a spot too narrow to pass. Then later in the run when I noticed the ATV was acting funny (front tire wasn’t spinning properly) and I realized I really didn’t have the energy to deal with any rig struggles tonight, I Gee’d around and cut the run short…at exactly the right spot so it worked out to be 6.0 miles! How does that happen that the run was EXACTLY 6.0 miles if not by the Sovereignty of God? If you have any doubts about His Hand in this, keep reading! After we got back to the parking lot I decided to stop the ATV closer to it’s designated parking spot so I wouldn’t have as far to push it (we removed the motor last season to lighten it up a bit), and took the dogs off the line and put them on the truck for their snack. I went back to the ATV to push it up the hill and the front right tire was completely locked up… I couldn’t push it at all. This happened a couple years ago and I’m pretty sure the brake pad has broken up and lodged in there again… thank you, China, for the high quality machine you put out! LOL! I tried to push it a couple of times and was completely unable to move it even an inch! I was contemplating where to park it until I could come get it in to a shop for repair when a car pulled into the parking lot and I saw it was the wonderful security guards for the resort. Without me even having to ask them, they lifted the front up and we moved it out of the way. PERFECT TIMING again! I don’t have a clue what I’m going to do about my rig being out of commission, but this was the perfect week for it to happen because I’m headed off island to run and can bring my back-up ATV home if needed. Words are not sufficient to say how THANKFUL I am for my Lord and His care of me and my team. I rejoice in His support and control of every little detail and how He ALWAYS works them together for my good and His Glory. His plan is hardly ever the same as mine (!), but it is ALWAYS BEST! It is also NEVER based on me deserving it, which is ALWAYS a good thing because I never could! Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound (and the sight)!

Romans 8:26-39 So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance…28 We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose (BY HIS GRACE- my comment)…37 Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors [m]and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.  38 For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things [n]impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers, 39 Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 Corinthians 12:9 But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!
