“May my latter days be . . . crowned with peace, characterized by holiness, and honored with extensive usefulness–this is all my desire.  Another week has run into eternity, and here I am, left on the sands of time, with opportunities to do good, and get good for my own soul. May . . . my poor dull mind be enlightened, my hard heart be softened, and my irregular life be made to accord exactly with the holy Word of God.  I want to be as holy as Jesus is holy; and to be employing all my powers in God’s service. Every moment, I would give to the Lord. I am hastening to Heaven–and there all my powers, faculties, and talents will be employed for God forever! Nothing but the presence, power, and work of the Holy Spirit, will make me what I ought to be; or produce the change I wish to see.                        O for entire consecration to God!”     James Smith

Seeing how easy it’s going to be for me to waste time and resources as I seek to run this race…

how easy it would be to neglect my spiritual race while preparing for this worldly race… Oh Lord, PLEASE guide me and use me and mold me and teach me and draw me and change me and use me up in Your Name and to Your Glory… PLEASE forgive me for my selfishness and desire to live for fun or for worldly goals alone, and PLEASE bring about good in the souls of Your people as a direct result of this race.  Keep my eyes upward on You and eternal things as I’m seeking to train for this upcoming race.

Philippians 2:16 …so that in the day of Christ I may have something of which exultantly to rejoice and glory in that I did not run my race in vain or spend my labor to no purpose.

Just tired today… too much running off-island and time on the computer today.  Fed the pups and watched them lay down and not move for the next 3 hours… I don’t think they were disappointed !  No excuses for tomorrow!
